Reel Cleaning Procedure

At Valley Reel Works, we take pride in providing top-notch reel cleaning services for all major reel brands. Our thorough cleaning process ensures that your fishing reels are in prime condition for your next outdoor adventure.

Fishing reels are meticulously disassembled to the frame. Metal components and bearings undergo an initial hand pre-cleaning before being placed in an ultrasonic cleaner for thorough cleaning. A subsequent hand cleaning removes any lingering grease or corrosion, followed by a fresh water rinse, and reassembly with premium lubricants.

Drag washers are cleansed, dried, and examined. If necessary, they are substituted with Carbontex drag washers (you will be contacted prior to any replacement). Ball bearing covers are detached, rinsed, and then subjected to ultrasonic cleaning. After another rinse, they are tested on a bearing checker. Should they not free-spool, the process is repeated. If they still do not perform satisfactorily, they are replaced with new premium high-speed bearings (you will be contacted prior to any replacement).
